SANTE SOFT CREAM FOUNDATION | FIRST IMPRESSIONS

Today something for all the lovers of natural organic beauty. Sante is, I believe, a German cosmetic brand. Their product range is pretty impressive ranging from body, hair and skin care to makeup. All for pretty affordable prices! I picked up their foundation out of curiosity. I wanted to know how a natural fluid foundation compares with conventional counterparts.

The Sante Soft Cream foundation claims to provide a velvety and especially flawless complexion. The skin should feel fresh, pleasant and nourished with cupuacu butter, pomegranate extract and organic jojoba oil. The claims seem pretty nice, so let's see how the foundation actually performs.

The first thing which strikes me after opening is the smell. It has a very strong sweet scent which doesn't go away even after application. The foundation seems a little bit more difficult to blend, but that is about to be expected with a product without silicone. A little bit longer work with a dense brush or fingers and it goes on pretty nicely. The skin really does feel velvety, fresh and unified. However, I am not sure about the flawless complexion claim. It gives only light coverage, which I personally don't mind, but it also unfortunately exaggerates pores. Maybe a primer would solve this issue. For now, I just finish off the skin with a translucent mattifying powder which seems to help with the issue.

After a whole day of wear, I feel very indecisive about this foundation. It does feel nice on the skin and it wears well (with a light dust of powder). Still looking pretty good after nine hours with only one touch up with an oil absorbing sheet. The scent though....it lingers all day long! If you like your products being scented and you like natural products, then give this a try. If you don't mind conventional cosmetics, there are better options out there for a light coverage and flawless finish. For example the Maybelline BB creams, both Fresh and Pure, are my all time favorites.
